Information we collect
We collect the account details you provide, such as your name, email address, and password-derived security data. We never store your plain-text password.
- Account and session records needed to sign you in.
- Subscription and billing identifiers returned by Stripe. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by Backlink Helper.
- Extension pairing and access-token records, including device labels, expiry, revocation, and last-use timestamps.
- Basic technical logs needed to secure and operate the service.
Browser extension data
Website profiles, AI provider settings, and AI API keys are stored in your browser's local extension storage. The extension sends its account token to Backlink Helper only to retrieve your account and the opportunities included in your plan.
- Your Backlink Helper password is never entered into or stored by the extension.
- Page content is read when you request AI-assisted drafting or form filling.
- When you request AI drafting, relevant page text is sent directly to the AI provider you configured.
- The extension does not automatically submit forms; you review and submit manually.
How we use information
- Provide authentication, account access, opportunity data, extension pairing, and subscription management.
- Protect the service from fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
- Diagnose failures and improve reliability.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
Service providers and sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share the minimum information needed with infrastructure, security, analytics, and payment providers that help operate the service. AI requests made with your own API key are sent to the provider you select under that provider's terms.
Retention and control
We retain account and subscription records while your account is active and as needed for security, billing, dispute handling, and legal obligations. You can disconnect an extension token from the extension. Browser-local profiles and AI keys can be removed through your browser's extension storage or by uninstalling the extension.
Security and changes
We use reasonable technical safeguards, including password hashing, expiring sessions, hashed extension tokens, and HTTPS. No online service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy when the product or legal requirements change and will revise the effective date on this page.
